Norman Parke Wiki

Norman Parke is a lightweight fighter currently signed to the Bellator. Although he hails from Northern Ireland, he currently trains out of Drysdale Jui Jitsu in Las Vegas. He gained notoriety when he won the lightweight tournament in The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes in 2012. He has fought primarily in Ireland and the UK including for the Cage Contender promotion where he won the vacant lightweight title before he appeared on TUF. He has finished sixteen of his twenty six wins including twelve submissions. His first sixteen fights, win or lose, were finished. Early in his career, he had a win streak of ten wins and is currently riding an nine fight streak.

Parke was signed to the UFC in 2012 when he appeared on a version of The Ultimate Fighter that pitted British fighters against Australian fighters. He won his first fight of the tournament when he defeated aussie Richie Vaculik by unanimous decision. He would next take on fellow brit, Brendan Loughnane and would again earn a unanimous decision although a third, sudden victory, round had to be used. This earned Norman a spot on the finale card against Colin Fletcher  which took place on Australia's Gold Coast. This would mark the first time that he fought somewhere other than the British Isles. He would take Fletcher to a decision which he won in order to earn the lightweight tournament crown as well as a six figure UFC contract.

Norman was set to make his regular UFC debut against Jon Tuck in April, 2013, but an injury to his opponent pushed both fighters off the card. He fought Kazuki Tokudome at UFC 162 and was able to earn the nod from the judges, extending his winning streak to eight. He next fought Tuck at UFC Fight Night 30 in Manchester, England and was able to pick up another unanimous decision. His next fight would be a Majority Draw against Leonardo Santos. He looks to get another win when he faces Naoyuki Kotani at UFC Fight Night 46.
